Can Healthy Eating Make My Skin Glow?

So how does one eat right for a healthy skin?? What is the right kind of food that we should be eating so that we have healthy glowing skin? How can we eat well and yet still eat Healthy??

Eating well means refraining from eating foods that are high in saturated fat and sugar….and are highly processed. That includes most fast food, full-calorie sodas, processed snacks like chips and crackers, and anything with more milligrams of sodium as compared to the calories you take in a serving.

The Nutritional consultants of Healthy Living Livonia are here to help you figure out what you should eat and what you need to avoid. They can also customize your diet to include foods that will help you make your skin look healthy and clear.

  • Mediterranean diet — comprises mainly fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, beans, nuts, and olive oil that can protect against acne, as can the Paleo diet.
  • Vitamin A Foods like carrots and spinach are the best source of vitamin A, which restricts the overproduction of cells in the skin’s exterior layer (note that there are some dead cells hanging around to choke pores). Not a lover of spinach or carrots? Try other Vitamin A stars such as pumpkin, dark leafy greens, sweet potatoes, and cantaloupe.
  • Omega-3 Fatty Acids Foods plentiful in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, walnuts, and flax seed may help keep inflammation under control. The deficiency of such fatty acids can be seen in having red, painful bumps on your skin.
  •  Vitamin E Foods consists of lots of vitamin E, like pine nuts and sunflower seeds, play an essential role in preventing the development of acne. Many of the studies have discovered that levels of vitamin E were significantly lower in patients with acne. In addition, the vitamin becomes the main source for healing acne-scarred skin.
  • Zinc:Zinc deficiency is related to many of the skin problems, including acne. Kicking back oysters and munching on dark chocolate can give you a healthy dose of zinc.
  • Vitamin B5: Vitamin B5 (and other B vitamins) foster, among other things, healthy skin and hair. In one small study, a large dose of vitamin B5 supplements treated many acne cases. Why we consider ithere? Vitamin B5 has been found to reduce oil production on the skin and minimizes the size of pores.
  • Selenium:Whether it is whole grains such as quinoa and brown rice or aromatic vegetables such as onion and garlic, both are rich in selenium helping restore the skin’s elasticity. But that’s not sufficient—selenium can also minimize inflammatory damage to the skin. A small study has revealed that intake of selenium supplements have improved the skin of patients with severe acne.
  • Water and High Fiber Foods Gulping H2O and consuming high-fiber foods such as fruits, beans, and vegetables, can help the body release toxins, which can cause inflammation and clogged pores. Constipation has also been related to skin conditions like acne. A high fiber diet with sufficient hydration will help keep things moving steadily.

Eating in moderation the right foods make your skin glow provided you count hours of sleep for giving rest to yourself helping to preserve the cells of the tissues of your skin. Healthy Living Livonia makes everything possible for you even slowing down your aging process. So next time you’ll confidently say Age is Just a Number!
